So, you’ve been working out for years and you still aren’t on the cover of Men’s Health, Best Body Eva issue? Is that what you are telling me? Sadly, I believe it. As much as we all have this idea that we can be “ripped”, the reality is 90% of us won’t even come close, and for most of us, it can’t just be about the looks.
So, should we just give up? Is it worth our time to keep pushin’ the cardio, doin’ the Brazilian Butt Lift workout, and lying to everyone about how “healthy” we eat? The answer is YES!!
You see, there is more to life than six pack abs, a nice a$$, or being ripped. We still have to LIVE our lives, and the goal is to have the best quality of life while ensuring longevity. Now, there are not guarantees, but there are transformative benefits from working out, and by working out, I mean doing low impact high intensity cardio paired with video guided strength training at least 4 times a week for 54 minutes a day. Check out Burnin’ By Ray if you need the real example, and yes I co-created it! I could have went on a tangent about how we have helped 1000’s of people change the way they FEEL both inside our club and in their everyday life. I just digressed for a minute because it had to be said.
These transformative benes are the ones you can’t see, or even feel, but they impact your body in everyday situations. Knowing the following benefits will allow yourself to stop feeling bad when you eat something you know you shouldn’t have. They will validate your efforts during your workouts because every workout is helping to evolve your body both physically and mentally. These benefits are the ones that are going to help you live longer. FACT!!!
THE “OTHER” BENEFITS OF EXERCISING
Stronger Brain - Regular exercise will increase the volume of brain cells, build new cells, prevent or delay onset of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, improve long-term memory, and improve focus!
Psychological and Emotional High – Consistent effort in your workouts will provide relief for symptoms of depression. Trigger the release of serotonin, endorphins, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which all aid in dulling pain, keeping the mood light, and relieving harmful stress.
Longevity – Working out 4 or more times a week leads to an increased life span of at least 5 years. It will slow down the aging process at the cellular level. Improved heart function, cardiac output, and controlling blood sugar levels will all make the body feel and move better.
The point to all of this is that you are reaping massive benefits by being consistent with your exercise routine, and you may never even feel the difference. With more and more research coming out, it is only verifying what those of us that workout already knew, and that is this:
“Bad Health is Bad For Business!”
So, don’t give up on yourself, or exercise just because you didn’t get into that size 2, or you didn’t get to 5% body fat yet! We can all use a little stress relief!
