What do most people hate when they see themselves naked? I know we all could come up with a variety of answers, but for most people, it's their body fat starring back at them. It's as if our body fat had a voice, and it screams at us to cover up immediately for checking ourselves out.
So for this blog, I decided to write it out the way I would want to read a blog. Spare me the bull, forget about lengthy unnecessary details, and hit me up with the facts because sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day to read a lengthy ass blog.

So here we go:
What is a BOD POD?
A machine that is considered to be the gold standard of estimating fat mass, lean body mass, body fat percentage, resting metabolic rate, and your total energy expenditure. It does a lot in a short amount of time, it's not invasive and it accurate to within 2% of your actual body fat percentage. Pretty friggin cool in other words.
How does it work?
The BOD POD is a capsule shaped machine that measures the pressure response to volume changes within the pod. WHAT?! That's what I said. Basically this machine estimates your body composition (fat mass and lean body mass) by measuring the pressure response to small volume changes. Really? It means when you sit in this machine it is going to estimate your body composition within a 2% accuracy range. Pretty Cool!!
Why we ordered it?
We ordered it because this machine is bad ass, and not too many places in Massachusetts have one. We ordered it so that our members could have access to the most accurate test to measure their body fat. I mentioned within 2% accuracy earlier. The other methods can have up to a 16% error range. Some of you have heard of these methods before like Skinfold Calipers and Bioelectric Impedance.
Why you will love it?
Besides the fact that it will tell you how much of your weight is fat mass, and how much of your weight is lean body mass, it will also tell you how many calories you burn at rest, or your resting metabolic rate. Meaning if you laid in your bed all day, your body is going to burn a certain number of calories to function. That is one of the most import numbers on your quest to drop unwanted body fat. Once you have this number you will now have an understanding as to how many calories your body needs to maintain itself. You will also know how many calories to consume to lose weight or gain weight.
